Nice product but rather expensive compared to reprogramming the T7 box:

Answer to above, open the file in T7suite, go to settings and klick in the open software checkbox and upload it to the T7 box again :)

That stage 3 software seems to be built on a verry old base software for the B235E engine? There are verry few open sid alternatives to access in the bin you uploaded, perhaps you should try finding another bin to build on?

Tried pressing the brake pedal at the same time as you press + and - ?

Re: Live engine data on SID

Postby yahhi » Mon Dec 21, 2009 11:42 am

I read the whole thread thru to get answer to my question, but did not get „close enough”...
So yesterday I soldered both my original and spare ecu for BDM connection. Dumped, erased and flashed just to get used to it and thought to add open sid function to my original bin for a start. Connected the ecu back to my car today. Seems that I have older software – only 33 parameters, no possibility to change Mode(nerr in place of that). So I should transfer my maps to a newer bin? But when I looked at this file viewtopic.php?f=32&t=2436 , which should be the late one for a 9-3, it also seems to be like mine. Hm, so which bin it has to be to make it work for my car? MY01 9-3 (9-3 B205R EC2000 EU )

alright, I missed thisone on page 6
Bergstrom wrote:The problem with some 9-3 users not being able to change Mode is because it doesn't even exist. I wanted to se fCod but i wasn't able to change Mode and it was nowhere to be found.
So, my solution to the problem was to find a 9-5 Bin, search for "Mode" in Hex Workshop just to be sure it existed, and then transfer my maps from my 9-3 bin to the 9-5 bin.

Now i can change Mode :D

Edit: I transferred my original file maps to this 9-5 bin download/file.php?id=1101 After changing vin/immo/sw version and comparing them, I get those symbols different:
1. AngleLimCal.AD_GradLow (orig 680 vs 450) OK, Fixed it by unchecking "fast throttle response"
2. MapChkCal.CheckSum (orig 2601-8977 vs 13319-39404) Not a problem at all.
Would anybody tell me, why those are different? Will it affect anything? :?

Will try the ecu soon to see it's allright...

Same thing every year, the thing called christmas arrives and ppl has to go out and buy a lot of gifts and make the home look nice

Good thing is that users can now devote more time to actually read the manuals and threads on the forum before asking, things usually looks a lot clearer after that :)

yahhi wrote:Ahhaa, success! Thank you very much for making this possible!

You have a function in T7suite to add/edit the symbols you want to see in SID no matter what software version you have, look undeer Actions - Sid information. Should help a lot in the future if you go on tuning your car :)

Hi all,

Don't know if this is any use to anyone but here goes anyway,

AS already mentioned, on earlier software the brake pedal has to be pressed whilst holding + and - on the panel to activate the SID info. I've just flashed a modded tune to my 98MY 9-5 using the 07-08 green inj...... base software and this has eliminated the need to press the brake pedal. Now only the + and -.
I've also got all modes (but you knew that already)

I was going to alter the hex code to show different summary data (the 6 readings at once) but found that if you press and hold the set button whilst in the summary data view, it changes permanently to the text view (telling you what the 6 numbers relate to). Whilst in is view if you press + or - it cycles around 6 sets of 6 readings.
Brief mention was made in one of the how-to's of each mode having its own set of summary readings, but i can't recall anyone mentioning being able to cycle through them - only permanently change them in the hex editor.

You guys probably know all this anyway, but i can't recall reading it anywhere (or i've just mis-read it)

Karl.

Re: Live engine data on SID

Hello again,

Pointing in the right direction required please. :)

I've succesfully changed the SID data to show knock count on each cylinder (KnockDetAdap.KnkCntCyl) which seems to work o.k.
But when I've tried to work out how to do a similar thing to show injector opening times on each injector i've come unstuck as i get four completely different values (all wrong).
The address i've used in the SID for Out.t_injection is correct (T7Suite recognises it as being correct) and it's 4 bytes long, presumably one byte for each injector? This is what's confusing me, the knock values are two bytes each and (hopefully) should not reach values that require two bytes to store. But the injector times (if i've done it properly) are only one byte and measured in micro-seconds, which, assuming maximum opening time, would require more than one byte to store.
Have i just answered my own question?
Is Out.t_Injection a single 4-byte value or 4x 1-byte values? I thought the ECU controlled each injector independantly. Or does it work out the injector opening time as a whole and then send that same signal four times, in which case the SID would just show one value?

My aim is to be able to see when the injectors become maxed out.

I'm in unknown territory here.

Dear Boys,

Is it possible to change the control keys for the open sid functionality?
I mean a swap between the up and the down arrow buttons on the left side
at the steering wheel?

If I enter the sid menu, I have to push the up button, to get deeper in the menu.
It is not logical for me, so I want to swap the both arrows, but only in the sid mode,
not in the standard mode.

Thanks

T.

Definetly doable! JK Nilsson made some changes to SID buttons in newer models. I sure want one of those "new" MIU with integrated SID! Wonder how difficult it would be to install in an older model...

Thaks Gredd!

Mr JK Nilsson,

would you be so kind, and tell me, how I can swap the buttons?

Thanks

Mr. Nilsson,

do you mean this?

Replies in T7 symbol Displ.ST_SIDButtons when pressing different Sid buttons on a BioPower My 2006

Code: Select all
SID Displ.ST_SIDButtons
Button up 10 00
Button down 08 00
Clr 00 80
Play 04 00
SRC 20 00
Vol + 40 00
Vol - 80 00
Night Panel 00 08
Horn 00 20

But how can I change them?
Thanks

Sorry, but could anybody explain me how to switch between Performance modes in SID ? I've read there are Performance.mode values 0,1 and 2, but which of listed functions (viewtopic.php?f=12&t=985#p10515) acts as a switch (when setting values)? Or maybe I misunderstood something?

Put the display mode into one of values in the SID information in T7Suite, flash this to the ECU, and then when the car is running you go to that value on the SID and set it. Then when you press the + and - buttons you'll get 'engine mode' on the SID along with E, N, S. Economy, normal, sport.
