Check out the T-7 section. Just finished posting the important utilities that you'll need to work with T-7 and some of the stock .bin's from the collection.

You'll need a HEX editor to view and manipulate the files in .bin form. Hex Workshop is one of the better ones as it will also convert .bin files into Motorola's .s19 file format (necessary for loading and unloading T7 files). http://www.hexworkshop.com/ There's a free trial period but eventually you'd need to buy it, a single license is currently $49.95.

We're hoping that people will choose to use the same software and hardware packages as much possible as it will be easier to support and create tutorials going into the future.

Don't be afraid to post if you have any questions or suggestions!

I have a few comments about the forum. First of all, nice work guys, you've got a good thing going here.

Could you move the Disclaimer text from the top of each and every page to somewhere else (preferably only show it during registration) ? It takes up too much space from more important content.

The automatic log-in doesn't work for me, does anyone else have this problem? Also, when I login, there's this unnecessary page telling me I logged in, why not go directly to the forum index?

Let me see what I can do on the login page. PHPBB3.0 is a new forum platform so I am just getting the bugs worked out on it right now.

As for the disclaimer text.... yeah I can kill that... I think that the registration email should be sufficient on that.

And thank you for the nice words on the site!

checkin' in . . .

good info so far.

Though I may not have any data logging tools or any tools related to playing around with the ECU, I hope to learn a few from you all.

In terms of technical knowledge, I certainly do not know what I can contribute but I do have a WIS for the GM 900 from '94 to '98.

Hope that resource would be put to use . . .

Don't know if you did anything, but auto-login seems to work now! And thanks for removing the disclaimer text, looks much better now :)

You're welcome! I tweaked the cookie settings some and pulled the banner text.

I am still working on the login confirmation page issue but since the autologin works I may not work that hard on it.

Hey all...I'm liking what I see so far! Keep up the good work.

I'm working on picking up some hardware to experiment with...probably mostly T5 stuff, although I have a 2000 B235R Auto ECU (in my Aero). So once I get comfortable with the technique, I'll aim to contribute that file.

Kick ass idea guys!

Hello all, I would like to say that your site is looking great! My name is James Hicks, I am a currently working on a few different ecu projects. Is your site dedicated to Saab info. ? Or is it open to other types of ecu's? I have tunerpro rt and a Moates autoprom programmer. I am Interested in helping out and learning as I progress on with my ecu tuning ventures. Again great job you guys are doing here.

Welcome to the site. While we are primarily focused on the SAAB engine management systems I think there is definatly room for other exploration into different ECU's. The benefit to the saab community is that all the people on this site generally all have SAAB's so test cars are easier to come by.

What type ventures are you working on yourself?

Hi there!

I want to say hi from Sweden.
Very nice site and a very nice place that we can all come together in to discuss what we (at least I) love the most.

My name is Fredrik and I work at Hi-Tuning.com with selling and developing tuning chips.

I may be silent for quite some time, but that is just because I only want to give input and answer posts when I have something worth saying.

Thanks guys for this site! I hope it can get larger really quick :D

Take care,
Fredrik

I own a '87 BMW 325, '85 BMW 325e,'62 VW Beetle,'86 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z. The '87 BMW is my daily driver(with a couple mods), the '85 is a complete "parts" car. The '62 Beetle, well that's a project, I would like to fuel inject it using a early Motronic ECU, possibly a GM ECU. The Daytona is track car, my "guinea pig" open to some torture. My associate(I own a small customizing shop) has a Miata and a turbo RX7 that we would like to tune as well. I geuss I could say that the projects won't stop there, but these are the ones that are currently being focused on.

New member here but I've been a saab owner for over 4 years and have always struggled with finidng good aftermarket parts and any useful information on saabs. Currently i have a 95 900 SEt that has a few mods and i'm just tenths of a second away from running a 13.xxx in the 1/4 on totally factory management. I do have one question however. What software do i need to get in order to pull information from my ECU and manipulate it to change fuel curves, spark tables, and boost limits? I'm planning on running a T3/T4 and a custom intake manifold (in time) and i'm going to be running larger injectors. I've done a little reading on this site about what you guys are doing but i just need to know if there is a program i can get that works like HP Tuners. If you are familiar with that program you purchase credits at $50 a piece for a crack on the factory ECU and then it allows you to go in and effectively turn the stock computer into a stand alone management system. Is there a program like that available for the T5 set ups?

Hi there,

I'm Tim from 19518 and I have a '03 9-3 SE Convertible 5-spd (2.0T 205HP, T7)with the Sport Package (aka ALU 36 17" rims, carbon fiber dash, Viggen interior, bumpers and wing minus Viggen crests). This is the 4th SAAB in a row for me and the one I'm ready to some serious tinkering with. I'd like to firm up the ride and tweak the motor for a bit more power (maybe 220 up from 205), a bit more economy and have the torque curve over 200 from 1800 RPM up. Other wish list items include making the shift-up light go on at a preset RPM limit and being able to quickly switch from econ/norm/sport ECU programs.

I'm thrilled this forum exists and will be ordering the necessary gear shortly. I just need to bone up on the pros/cons of each offering out there. Do all solutions require soldering like the recommended USB-ML-16/32? Is a B*R-like OBD2 port solution available???

My hope is to tune mildly and often as upgrades are applied. Depending on the capabilities of the T7 reader/writer, I will probably also get an ODB2 USB scan tool. Anyway, enough rambling - time to start researching!

Thanks,
...-T
