The same thing happened, flasher in the car is a problem, better to remove the ECU and do it at home..
as I recommended, Dajazzz

Look at the USB-BDM (Sales of Project BDM interface for USB), a member of the forum "Johnc"
It is very fast (you only have to solder 10 pins ...)

David, Thanks a lot
I build a BDM interface on a protoboard follows an electric diagram given by Dilema in his Trionic7.pdf. Thanks Dilema. After a week of hard work the BDM interface work !!
Tips
If nothing works, take a shower.
For power I use a PC Power Supply, It has a 5v and 12v (yellow)
Create a Boot CD, in my case, copy BDM program files to an USB Flash memory.
Use the T7Suite to convert a Bin file into S19. Open the bin file with T7Suite and export as S19, you done!
Copy a S19 file to USB Flash
***If you try to boot with a Win98 boot files, remember NTFS format can't support.***
Booting from CD and type "C:" to change directory to USB Flash.
Connect All, BDM interface to ECU->BDM interface (print port male)to Laptop or PC that has a Print port female connector. Then Power up ECU
From C: execute db32.exe
remember prepare ECU for Write/Read. Type "do prept7.do"
If you get Error Code -99, check wires and connectors on ECU and BDM interface.
Always work with the ECU on your desk !!

In my case I have a 9-5 1999 2.3t Auto

Thank to All on this forum.

Ok, I have the elmscan usb setup, I managed to download flash.bin file, for my 204l 1999 saab. the file size is exactly 256k, just like one i downloaded, but t5 suite will not open it. it says the checksum is wrong, and when i try try to look at in binary, its all 00's? Help please. New to this, kinda frustrating being this close, yet so far away.......I saw something about a 120 ohm resistor, where is that supposed to be? Was downloading at 39k, super slow.

I tried to use the elmscan usb model 5 obdII connector tool. I opened scan xl, established a connection with computer, and downloaded the bin file. It showed a connection, but the file wont open on t5suite. I now think someone said in the forum, you cant establish a connection to the can from there, but the file is exactly the same file size as another, known good file i have. 256k. here is the bin file, can someone check this out and see what you think?

Hello..

I got a problem with my Lawicel CANUSB dongle, + t5suite.

I have make'd my own cable to connect lawicel interface to a T5 Box, i have a 5.5 box i tried with yesterday and it seemd to work realy great to get onlinetuning / connecting and reading .. from the box..

But today .. whan i try to connect to my box i get errors, even if the box is not connected... i dont realy know what the problem is.... but T5Suite is now not working as it did last night.. :/

i attach a picture...

Image

i get a similar error message if i try to connect without a box attached as well, but i didnt get it before..

has my Interface screwed up or what?, i made my cable as good as i can, ... and i can handle a solderiron .. damn well.

I have also tried the interface on a other comp i have, Windows XP is installed on it but i got the same result.. error whan i tying to connect to the box. :/

any who have any ideas.?

I'm sorry but I still have problems with the realtime toggle panel. I have now connected the CANUSB (lawicel) to the P-bus (directly at the ECU) as it was suggested earlier. The green led in the CANUSB is on but I do not get any realtime read-outs. :-( The fps is between 4 and 6 and I'm now able to get a reading on the misfires and knock, but as said the realtime toggle still does not work. Any suggestions?

Have you got your current file open in T7Suite?

No, is that a requirement in order to make it work?

Problem with T7Suite 2.0.6 (9-5 '01) and read OBDII Codes.

I have connected the CAN interface (LAWICEL) to the I-BUS @ the radio (CAN_H and CAN_L, only - no resistor).
Windows Device Maager shows OK - and the device flash shortly red and green.

When I try to read the OBD information from the realtime menu, I get this error:

1) Connection shows: Open
2) I then get an IndexOutOfRangeException (and T7Suite Stopped)
3) Same problem with the reading the RAM
4) No values is shown in the realtime window

The CAN Interface continue to flash fast gren and slower red (until T7Suite termination)

Is this a BUG in T7Suite? OR ?

You have to have your current bin opened in T7Suite to use realtime options.

Dont know about T7 but the light should be flash green only , red indicates there's a problem.
You said you connected CAN_H & CAN_L but isnt CAN ground needed to make it work properly ??
I recall reading that the resistor isnt needed for T7 because its already terminated in the ecu (unlike T5's)

No, the resistor is not needed. Ground is also not needed - at least I never connect it when working with I-bus.
With I-bus it is impossible to achieve constant green light - red light will also be flashing, that is normal.
